Great to be on site again at Smithfield last week, announcing that - following the collapse of Pochin - work on the 4* Hilton Garden Inn hotel and Clayworks apartments will recommence in just a few weeks time. This comes as our development partner, GenR8, appoint Willmott Dixon to finish the works. Both buildings have had their ‘topping out’, meaning they are structurally complete, and with work restarting again so soon, it means there will be minimal delay to completion.
Willmott Dixon have a strong reputation for using local suppliers and are hoping to be able to engage many of the subcontractors who were originally on the project. A number of the Pochin team have been taken on by GenR8 and Willmott Dixon already.
The good news was covered extensively locally, including in the Sentinel, Radio Stoke and on the BBC, as well as in trade press publications, including Pbc Today and Construction Enquirer.
