Despite the temperature, the first joint police/councillor surgery in Meir Park delivered some positive outcomes. As well as the mobile police station being located outside Tesco Meir Park (thank you for the hot drinks!), we also saw over twenty Police Cadets out across the estate delivering crime prevention advice and speaking to residents.
Police also carried out some high profile enforcement of the 'no right turn' from the McDonalds/Weathervane access road, issuing a number of fixed penalties for this and other offences. A number of residents commented on the high profile nature of the evening, and I'm hopeful we'll be able to repeat in the new year.
As ever, please do report any issues of concern to the police, using either 101 or the online reporting. It's often little bits of intelligence that help to resolve bigger issues.
