The superb Hanley Park has been undergoing restoration over the last few years, supported by Heritage Lottery Funding to bring back and restore a number of features across the park. The latest to be reviewed is the 123 year old bandstand, and I was delighted to be able to meet some of the musicians who will be delivering a series of performances there over the summer. Some great photos in this Sentinel article of the brilliant North Staffs Accordion Band, plus some footage of them playing. Well worth visiting the park this summer!
You can also hear me chatting to Sophie Calvert on BBC Radio Stoke about it above.
