This week sees ‘The Colour Room’, a film about Stoke-on-Trent ceramicist Clarice Cliff, open at cinemas across the country, with special local showings at the Mitchell Arts Centre in the city centre.
If you’re familiar with our city’s industrial heritage, then like me you’ll probably spend most of the film shouting out local locations that feature, including both Gladstone Pottery Museum and also Middleport Pottery, as outlined on BBC News Online.
The arrival of ‘The Colour Room’ provides a great opportunity to once again stimulate interest in our city and its ceramic heritage. It’s great to see good national coverage of ‘The Colour Room’ in The Evening Standard, The Telegraph and the Daily Mail, as well as coverage regionally and locally about the screenwriter’s love of our city, plus articles in the Manchester Evening News, on Our Staffordshire blog, Babababoon and film/programme location website Find That Location.
