After a hectic few weeks, great to confirm that Bowmer + Kirkland have been appointed as contractors for the Goods Yard, the first of our Levelling Up projects to get underway.
The proposal to develop the former Swift House site was first muted in 2018, with the announcement that Stoke-on-Trent City Council would be working with Capital & Centric made in January 2020. The project secured government support in October 2019, receiving £16m of Levelling Up funding before receiving planning permission in summer 2021. The announcement of B+K means work will start imminently on site, transforming the ugly warehouse into a new public space, with apartments and business space above the restored canal side bond warehouse.
The announcement has been welcomed by the media, both locally and within the construction sector, including articles on Stoke-on-Trent Live, NSC, Europe Real Estate, Insider Media, Constructor Mag and Construction Enquirer.
