A big moment today as our plans for an arena in the city centre move a step closer, with outline planning permission granted for the Etruscan Square development. The site - the largest city centre regeneration site in the Midlands - will be home to new homes, leisure, parking and the arena. A number of planning applications have come forward in the past, but never moved beyond this stage. However, this project already has £20m of government support through the Levelling Up Fund.
Pleased to see largely cross party support at Planning today, as detailed in this Sentinel article. More details also in this BBC article, and in Midlands Insider here. Meanwhile the Sentinel covered the background to the site here recently.
